As Summer draws to an end, I am preparing each day for upcoming events, filling custom orders, getting inspired by a multitude of things in life, doing research for my next line, honing in on what my customers are drawn to and how to better serve them, and enjoying creative freedom to do what is in my heart and soul.
I recently filled two custom apron orders for Alta Baja Market in Santa Ana, and just picked up Restauration Finely Crafted Food + Beverage in Long Beach, one of my top fave eateries here in town! Black denim and striped seersucker will soon adorn the servers and I am thrilled to put them in custom bistro short aprons! Next on my list to tackle will be The Boathouse Collective bar staff in Costa Mesa if things go my way. Stay tuned!
The element of up-cycling will be prevalent in my up-coming collection of fashionably functional aprons. Details like faux pocket squares and hand-painted graphics will adorn select pieces, and the collection will be somewhat denim-centric. I am always drawn to denim, new and old, and it is very California, yet very universal. Indigo, over-dyed brick and sage, railroad stripes, florals, and animal prints are in the mix as well. Designs are in work for everyone who loves and appreciates my aesthetic. I recently incorporated cocktail cloth napkins to the mix, and will be introducing cloth dinner napkins for the Fall/Holiday season. They will be perfect for gifts and for those eclectic customers looking for something unique to adorn their dining room table and enhance their meal experience.
Last but not least, I will be popping up a second time on September 14 from 9am until 3pm at Steel Cup Cafe’s 2nd Saturday Pop-Up event that will include other local talent by way of artisans, small business owners, and live music. My last event for the month will be the monthly Fourth Fridays On Fourth Street, September 27 from 6pm until 9pm in front of California Drifters on (East) Retro Row, near the corner of Temple Ave.
